Softdrinks – Too Much is Bad

Soft drink is one of the popular beverage here in the Philippines in restaurants, fast foods, house hold and everywhere. Most people nowadays resort to soft drinks to satisfy their thirst, for all we know our country is a tropical sunny and rainy seasons only but mostly sunny. When you stand in a sari-sari store most kids would prefer to ask soft drinks to their parents than juices or other drinks, also you would notice how attracting the packaging, posters and commercials of this companies producing the drink.

What is soft drink anyway? Over nearly 300 hundred years ago early societies believed that there is this mineral water that whenever you bath and/or drink from diseases would be cured, this is one trace of history of soft drinks many scientists have studied this mineral water that comes from natural springs. Another is Sherberts made from crushed fruit, herbs, or flowers developed by Arabic Chemists. In 1770s carbonated water found by Joseph Priestly who impregnated distilled water with carbon dioxide. And in the 1806s soda fountains were sold in parts of the US then another and after another then the world.
The Composition of a normal Cola are carbonated water, caramel color, natural flavors, caffeine, phosphoric acid and high fructose corn syrup (HFC). Carbonated water is water creates the bubbles in colas. The caramel color is responsible for the familiar coloring expected by the consumer to see, additive that is natural that tints food products. The said ingredients are said to be harmless. Caffeine which is known to be addictive a diuretic and stimulant also found is coffee and some chocolate drinks.
The last ingredient is Sugar this is reasons for all negatives issues for Soft Drinks. Phosphoric acid creates the Soft Drinks sweeter is also found that it creates are bones denser, this chemical displaces calcium which is very important to our bones thus making our bones very weak with much intake of this chemical also a possible cause for osteoporosis. The HCF which is the partner of phosphoric acid for sweetening Soft Drinks is found by to be one of the leading causes of obesity in the U.S. We cannot escape HCF this chemical is also used for foods found in the supermarket. There is still a lot to say about soft drinks if you are interested just seeking and you will find.
With just a little discipline we could lessen the intake of these chemicals, with exercise and proper diet we could still enjoy this kind of foods.

Life is here not just to face all suffering and crossing all the obstacles also enjoying it not too much but just enough. I did not post this to bombard or bad mouth the Soft Drinks, it just a reminder that too much is not good to our body.

Chicken in Chinese Soya Sauce

Ingredients:

1chicken ( about 31/2 lb )
1 dessertspoon sweet sherry
1 dessertspoon thick Soya sauce
2-teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper

Oil for frying
1 teaspoon crushed green ginger
2 cloves garlic
2 dessertspoons thin Soya sauce
2 dessertspoons thick Soya sauce
¾ cup water
4 teaspoons sugar
1-teaspoon monosodium glutamate

Procedure on Cooking:

Clean and dry the chicken thoroughly. Rub it inside and out with the mixture of sweet sherry, first measure of thick Soya sauce, the salt and pepper mixed together and let it stand for 1 hour.
Heat 2 dessertspoons of oil in a saucepan and in it brown the ginger and garlic. Add the thin Soya sauce and, when the mixture boils, pour it into the chicken cavity.
Stain it after it has drained out and bring the sauce to boil again. Repeat the same procedure four times. (A little water may be added to the boiling sauce if it has evaporated.)Then place the whole chicken into the saucepan. Roll the chicken over the Soya sauce till it is brown on all sides. Then add the water, sugar, monosodium glutamate and cook on medium heat for 15 minutes, turning over once during cooking.
Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces and pour the sauce over.

Avocado vs. Papaya

This summer we want something that refreshes our body from the strong heat of the sun. Something that is economical, delectable and easy to prepare. Considering the fact its healthy benefits to us. With that brings me the idea of  trying different kind of fruit shakes to complete my day. And with all the fruits I have, avocado and papaya I go for more. Plus the fact on the benefits I will get on eating avocado and papaya.

Papaya Milk Splash Recipe

1 1/2 – 2 cups papaya
1/2 – cup milk
1/4 – cup sugar

Clean out the seeds and desk in the papaya. Add to a blender
with the milk, sugar and ice, and blend at medium to high
speed for one or to minutes. Then serve it immediately with
your desired flavor of ice cream on top.

Avocado Milk Shake Recipe

2 – 3 halved and peeled avocados
1/2 cup sugar
1 liter milk

Blend on medium for 3 to 5 minutes. Then serve it
immediately with your desired flavor of ice cream on top.

 

Avocado is rich in vitamin E that plays a role on aiding skin appearance and assist in having a good complexion. Some of us has a wrong or mislead information about avocado on dietary reasons. So therefore they avoid avocados or eat less than they could.
Actually avocado can be a helpful fruit on successful weight-management program. Like its monounsaturated fat speedup the basal metabolic rate compared to saturated fat. Its high fat content makes us quicker the feeling of fullness, thus helping to reduce overeating. As I said a while ago it is rich in supply of vitamins and minerals, also makes the diet more wholesome and satisfying and more conducive to overall health and to moderation in consumption. Avocado is also antioxidants and free radicals and can prevent cancer, a cure to cataracts and aging.

While the nutrition benefits of eating Papaya it is helpful on our aiding digestion because papaya is known having the contains of “papain” digestive enzyme. So if you are dealing with the problem of constipation better consumed a ripe papaya being easily digestible. And also consumption of ripe papaya said help in the prevention of cancer in organs and glands with epithelial tissue. Sometimes I used to prepare it into pure juice and with that it assist me in mitigating infections of the colon. It also helps in breaking down pus and mucus. Some benefits that they are the same, they both antioxidants, rich in vitamins, help on lowering cholesterol levels and can be a regimen beauty products and fighting against aging.
